Kathryn is a seasoned hospitality professional. She worked for Hyatt in Central Florida prior to joining The Greenbrier for 14 years of service. Kathryn led a food and beverage operation for a season at the historic resort and then was asked to move over to the Conference Service department. In this capacity she handled everything from Fortune 500 groups ranging in size from 10 to 1500, to board events and incentive programs to Town and Country weddings. During her tenure in Conference Services, she directed the day-to-day operations of the department which served as the liaison of the client to the other departments of the hotel. During this time, she annually contributed to 14 million in service revenue for the hotel, often tagged Americas resort.

In 1994, Kathryn was asked to move into the spa department and begin the evaluation process of systems, square footage utilization. She was assigned the responsibility of leading the team concerned with the expansion. During this period she oversaw the first launch of the traditional spa experience of The Greenbrier outside of WV, by being the project director for The Greenbrier Spa at Savannah Harbor, in Savannah, Georgia.

Kathryn, not only created the program of services which included replicating The Greenbrier Mineral soak, but trained the spa manager, staff, oversaw the complete installation of the spa and assisted with the marketing concepts. Kathryn then began the design collaboration with TAG Galyean to enlarge and enhance the too small Greenbrier Spa in WV. Running a 2.6 million dollar annual operation with a staff of 50, Kathryn helped grow the location from 12,500 square feet to 43,000 sq. ft. creating a total of 45 treatment rooms. The size increase moved the budget potential up by 400 %. During the transition the facility was closed for only two full days thanks in large part to her planning.

Organization, strategic vision and the jump in and get-it-done attitude assisted with The Greenbrier Spa being recognized during her direction as one of the top spas in the world and #1 in service by industry critics. Kathryn is known for her creativity, diversity of skills, diplomacy, ability to see the needs of the project and her ability to create an effective timeline.

Words on Kathryn

"She is an outstanding professional – exceptionally bright, highly energetic, very customer focused and quality oriented. Kathryn is one of those people that when taking on a project, an exceptional outcome is the only acceptable outcome.

I have every confidence in Kathryn’s abilities to provide outstanding results for any of her clients. Her commitment is unquestionable."

"I had the pleasure of working under the direction of Kathryn Tuckwiller during my employment as Spa Manager of The Greenbrier Spa at the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort . This association was my entry into the hospitality industry after spending approximately 20 years in Corporate America office management. Kathryn truly became my mentor.

Her ability to communicate, train and motivate are exceptional. Her knowledge of the industry is incredible and her ability to relate to each and every level of staffing enables her to accomplish any task easily.

Kathryn's knowledge of other industries, specifically construction, proved invaluable in the design of The Greenbrier Spa at Savannah Harbor and became even more apparent to me upon my departure from Savannah and entry into my next venture. Her diverse knowledge also enhances her ability to establish relationships easily since she speaks intelligently in so many areas.

Kathryn is very clear with her expectations and her standards are extremely high; however, she provides the necessary tools and direction needed for success.

It was a privilege to work with Kathryn. I grew both personally and professionally under her direction."

With kindest regards,
Elizabeth B. Hutto

While Kathryn has been associated with The Greenbrier for several years in various capacities, she performed remarkably as Director of The Greenbrier Spa and Salon, a position from which she resigned to form her own company. She was a capable and trustworthy employee, as well as a friend of enviable personal character.

I would not hesitate to recommend Kathryn for any position she may be seeking and would be happy to expound upon this reference by phone, if desired.
